As I am busy updating my blog, eldest daughter gave me this - something she wrote for English.

One of the strongest people,

dedicating his life to

protecting his family.

Old bruised hands show

years of hard work.

Ill emotion is soon eased

in his presence;warm hearted

and gentle, no words can explain,

a role model to all.

Standing in the kitchen, looking

into the garden, watching the

birds flying to and from the

table top, no words spoken but

the connection is there between

both him and I.

Family trips to Borth, all

together, building sand castles

on the beach, long walks to look

for the shells, he holds my

hand tightly; I smile at my Grandad,

I am never alone.

Enough talking now.

August update part 2.

A few days of our holiday have been spent tackling this...

Daughters 2 and 3 cannot keep it tidy so drastic action was called for. Firstly came many bin bags and trips to the charity shop. We had already bought some new bedding and curtains from Laura Ashley. We choose some new colours and we painted solidly for 4 days - there was not a spider left unpainted!

We went to Hardwick Hall on August 5th. It rained again (I have been singing a lot during the holidays - maybe I'll stop now...)

More trees...

I know it was the 5th August because...

Glitter Graphics

It seems ages ago that I wrote, although I have been busy snapping with my camera. Where to begin...

We've been canoeing. It was all going very well until I swapped my trusty canoe for one that was possessed by the devil!

We decided to join the National Trust this year. The first property that we went to see was Calke Abbey:

Despite the rain we had a fantastic time. I managed to find some reduced price Cath Kidston hand salve and the kids climbed trees!

The walled gardens were amazing and we bought fresh produce.
