I don't quite know how it happened but Husband and I celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. He bought me this gorgeous silver coloured bear which I have called Hanni Versary! Despite only moving in a few hours ago he already answers to his name and is fully house trained. All I can say is that it took a lot longer with my husband.

Where has the time gone?
Oh dear, the last time that I blogged was over two weeks ago. I love my blog but as time passes it becomes harder and harder to think of something to say. I can understand how people just abandon their blogs. Not that I am thinking of doing that. I always struggle in January and this one has been worse than the last few. A big black cloud has been hanging over my head and no matter what I do it just isn't shifting. Every year I fight it and this one will be no different. It doesn't help that my blood pressure is still unstable and now that I am back at work it is on the up again. I am really not good at being ill either mentally or physically.
Changing the subject, I thought I would have a go at crocheting something other than a granny square or the masses of mistletoe that I made before Christmas. I saw this in a magazine and fell in love with it. I really, really need a crocheted clock in my life, I am sure my time keeping would be instantly improved!

Anyway I can wax lyrical about the merits of a gorgeous hooky timepiece in my life for ever and a day. The background piece starts off with a decrease at the edges to get the point at the top, however, my then attempt at straight sides is somewhat lacking...
Not that you can tell but it is actually upside down! If you look too closely at the stitching you can also see that when I got fed up of the double crochet stitch I made up my own. Hmmm.

I can't believe it!
Well the decorations are down. I've really enjoyed them this year and whilst normally I am desperate to pack them away on Boxing day, this year I wasn't. Although by my reckoning I now have less than eleven months to put them all back up again!
I haven't just been taking decorations down, I have also been busy crafting. It's not a New Year's resolution because I am not making any, however I am going to try and use up my crafting stash which quite frankly is obscene. I would also like to finish some projects which have been a work in progress for more years than I care to admit. Take this one for instance, Husband bought it as a Christmas present for me ten years ago, although it could even have been twelve. Hmmm. I got off to a great start and probably completed half of this rug was completed in no time at all. It's not a quick project and I suppose I got a little bored. So every now and then I would do a little more and then shove it away again. No 4 discovered in the back of her wardrobe, I felt it was quite safe there as she never tidies up and certainly never hangs anything up. Until a week ago. So for these last few days I kid you not I have done some serious hooking. She has also done some of it too. I did my last bit of hooking last night, and tonight I've sewn in the edges. I cannot believe that it is finished.
Seriously I am more chuffed than a chuffed thing. Even more seriously I am never, NEVER doing another rug. Not ever.

New Year
Well I've thought long and hard about making a New Year's resolution. Sometimes I make one and sometimes I don't. I've looked at Pinterest which I can always rely on to give me guidance when I need it (often in the form of ecards.) I've used a picture that I took in the Autumn which gives me a warm feeling and added a caption to it. So this year I have decided...
And that's all I have to say about that.
